Summary

Foundational document

The Action and Advocacy program of the Landscapes for People, Food and Nature Initiative is based on foundational discussions held at the Nairobi International Forum in March 2012. Following that conference, the Landscapes Initiative co-organizers released this report, identifying more than 300 landscape-oriented initiatives where alliances are being built among farmers, ranchers, pastoralists, tourism operators, forest owners, conservation managers, and private industry.

Launched at Rio+20

The report was launched at Rio+20 in June 2012, and the work of dramatically scaling-up the whole landscape approach, key to averting planetary food and environmental crises, began in earnest.
