The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) recently released six regional reports containing detailed examinations of the environmental issues affecting each of the world’s regions: North America, the Pan-European region, Asia and the Pacific, West Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Africa. Together, these comprehensive assessments will provide the foundation for the sixth iteration of UNEP’s flagship assessment, the Global Environment Outlook (GEO-6), currently under production.
The GEO-6 sets the stage for implementation of the United Nations 2030 Development Agenda and will help shape national, regional, and global responses to the Sustainable Development Goals and their environmental dimension.
We invite you to join us at the Wilson Center on July 21st in a discussion focused on the Regional Assessment for North America, which underscores the universal character of the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda. In this two-panel discussion, lead authors from the report and policymakers will outline progress, challenges, and proposed policy responses.
