Since its inception in 2011, the Initiative has critically reviewed the state of experience and knowledge about integrated landscape management (ILM), raised awareness of ILM potentials, and established pilot programs to accelerate knowledge-sharing and action across communities of practice.
In this next phase of work, the Initiative partners will focus on supporting one another to operationalize integrated landscape approaches more effectively and at scale. Through the development and implementation of integrated strategies, progress will be made in climate-smart agriculture, the Aichi biodiversity targets, Sustainable Development Goals being developed around food and water security, sustainable cities, restoration of degraded lands and forests, and agriculture green growth.
Ultimately, the Initiative seeks to achieve transformative change towards thriving, multifunctional landscapes worldwide.
