This tool helps to identify the institutional aspects of landscapes in terms of their actions, associations, meanings and control. It helps to understand the true identity of a landscape, and the institutions on which this identity is built. It helps users to understand the productive basis of a landscape, and both its traditional and modern regulatory mechanisms. The tool helps to facilitate a stakeholder dialogue on the needs and potentials for institutional change at the landscape level.
We have used this tool in participatory dialogues and workshops around the world, from East Africa to Southeast Asia to Latin America.
It helps raise awareness of a landscape's identity, and both the traditional as well as the modern components of it.
