Leading global sustainable agriculture organization Solidaridad becomes co-organizer of LPFN

The Landscapes for People, Food and Nature Initiative is pleased to announce that Solidaridad has stepped up its engagement in promoting and strengthening integrated agricultural landscape management by becoming a co-organizer of the Landscapes for People, Food and Nature Initiative (LPFN). Solidaridad has begun a learning journey with the launch of seven new landscape programmes in July this year. For this reason, cooperation with the LPFN Initiative is increasingly important to Solidaridad.

Solidaridad has a long history as a leader in agricultural value chain sustainability, focusing on positive outcomes for the the people who produce the resources on which we all depend. It’s recent commitment to taking a landscape approach and its longstanding values of working in partnership through co-learning and shared decision-making make the organization an ideal leader within the LPFN.

As Katie Minderhoud, Solidaridad Market Developer for Agricultural Commodities, says, “Solidaridad has a unique position and track record in mobilizing the private sector and farmers in supply chain development, which are exactly the players that need to be involved in integrated landscape management.”

Melissa Thaxton, Partnership Coordinator for the LPFN Secretariat at EcoAgriculture Partners, praised the new commitment, saying, “We are thrilled that Solidaridad has acknowledged the important role of the LPFN in the learning journey we are all on to improve the sustainability of agricultural landscapes. Their contributions to the partnership have already been invaluable, and we cannot wait to deepen our work together.”

About Solidaridad

Solidaridad envisions a world where the people who produce the resources on which we all depend can contribute to change that matters, change that leads to prosperity for all, without harming each other or the environment. This therefore helps to ensure that resources will continue to sustain us for generations to come. Solidaridad is an international network organization with partners all over the world. They have a single agenda and a single strategy: together we learn and progress, together we achieve results, and together we decide on future steps.
